This lecture and discussion in the CCFR’s West Suburban series
explores the rising political, social, economic and military powers
in today’s world.
Khilnani, the first speaker in the series, will talk about the rise
of India. Khilnani was born in Delhi and educated at Cambridge. He earned
a B.A. from Trinity Hall, Cambridge (1983) and a Ph.D. from King’s
College, Cambridge (1989). He wrote The Idea of India in 1997.
Khilnani is a professor and director of the South Asia Studies Program
at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at the
Johns Hopkins University.
