Richard C. Longworth is the new executive director of the Global Chicago
Center at The Chicago Council on Foreign Relations. He joined the Council
after a career in journalism, at home and abroad, most recently as senior
correspondent for the Chicago Tribune. For 20 years Longworth
was a global correspondent for the Chicago Tribune and United
Press International, and he has reported from 75 countries on five continents.
A graduate of Northwestern University, he was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard.
Introductions will be made by Jerome McDonnell, host of Chicago Public
Radio’s Worldview. McDonnell has been with WBEZ since
1984, serving in a number of capacities.
This series of programs on the politics and economics of world affairs
is jointly sponsored by the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations and
College of DuPage.
