NEW! The PhysWhiz II Series
These first four multimedia, educational software programs
in the new PhysWhiz II series are designed to help nursing students and
licensed nurses learn/review the anatomy and physiology of major body systems
and how they relate to patient care. Using
the sound instructional design principles of the original seven PhysWhiz
programs, the NEW PhysWhiz II programs include:
- Video clips of physical assessment techniques for
visual learners
- Windows System design with drop down menus and
a navigation tree. A look familiar to your students.
- A large assortment of pathophysiology examples
to link theory to patient care
- Capability to print out every screen
- Narration of all screens for auditory learners
- Extensive use of graphics, audio, and video to
facilitate student understanding of the concepts presented.
- Generous use of practice items providing immediate
reinforcement of the information presented as well as opportunities
for students to evaluate their understanding of a concept.
- A test bank, designed to address all levels of
difficulty. Knowledge and comprehension questions are used to ensure
the student has mastered the necessary foundation. Synthesis and application
questions are used to test the student's ability to apply the information
to patient situations.
Content Taught by PhysWhiz II:
The Neonate
This new PhysWhiz
II program provides a general overview of fetal development, physiological
changes in the neonate that occur at birth, assessment and nursing care
of the newborn, and common anomalies and pathophysiology identified
in the neonatal period. The body systems covered include:

Gastrointestinal System
Hematopoietic System
Immune System
Metabolic and Endocrine Systems
Musculoskeletal System
Nervous System

A test band contains
items testing the student's ability to apply the information to client
