Incident Command for Active Shooter
Although most active shooter incidents are of short duration and may not require a
written Incident Action Plan (IAP), it is critical that the command and general staff
are highly organized. A lack of organization can slow response of support agencies
and prove fatal for the responders as well as the general public.
Participants will discuss Incident Command System (ICS) concepts specific to active shooter incidents, develop their organizational structure and work through a full-scale drill in a stressful situation. This program is appropriate for all levels of command and general staff and EOC management staff. Completion of ICS 400 is highly recommended.
