Andie Richmond, Adviser of SLC
Brief Biographical Description:
In addition to serving as Adviser to Student
Leadership Council, I am also a Coordinator of Student Activities.
I graduated with my Masters in Recreation Administration with an
emphasis on Outdoor Pursuits from Aurora University. Prior to joining
College of DuPage, I worked in a variety of settings. Previous experiences
included working as a Teen Director at Grand Rapids Metropolitan
YMCA and facilitating groups on challenge courses and backpacking
trips through North Carolina Outward Bound.
I am so excited to be a part of the team
at C.O.D.! It is my goal to increase awareness of the leadership
opportunities available through Student Leadership Council and other
Leadership programs on campus. I am committed to helping students
learn about leadership and how they can become positive, active
leaders as students and in their future.
Brief Description of Adviser Position:
As adviser to the SLC, I attend their meetings
and workshops to advise in team goal development and implementation.
I also assist officers with position and personal goal development
and attainment throughout their term. .

Brief Biographical Description:
I have served as the Director of Student
Activities at College of DuPage for
13 years. As Director, I have also served as adviser to the Student
Government Association until five years ago when the Coordinator
of Student Activities was
added as an adviser to the group. I have worked as a Student Activities
professional for 26 years in the Chicago area. I worked previously
at UIC and at Morton College following graduate school at Eastern
Illinois University.
I am committed to helping students become
positive, active leaders in whatever endeavors they undertake. College
of DuPage offers many opportunities for students to apply and practice
their leadership skills. The new evolution of the SGA to the Student
Leadership Council has shown us that students want to be involved
in their college community.
Brief Description of Co-adviser Position:
As co-adviser to the SLC, I attend meetings
and workshops to serve as a resource concerning the policies, procedures
and practices of the college, as well as provide advice from 26
years of experience. I also work with the officers, especially the
Operations Coordinator and the Finance Coordinator, to help them
learn the details
of their positions.
