Parking
Rules and Regulations
Designated parking areas have been established on campus for use by
students, faculty, staff and visitors. College of DuPage Department
of Public Safety officers are sworn peace officers in the State of Illinois
and, as such, have the power to enforce the laws under Illinois Compiled
Statutes. All students, faculty, staff and visitors of the campus are
asked to abide by the following rules and regulations as established
by the Department of Public Safety.
Parking Areas
All vehicles must be parked on pavement between the
yellow parking lines. Parking on campus roadways, sidewalks or in parking
lot traffic lanes is not permitted. Students are not allowed to park
in the restricted or reserved parking spaces or in restricted and reserved
faculty/staff parking lots. Blue light emergency call boxes are located
throughout the campus and may be activated to summon help. Click

Overnight Parking
Overnight parking is not permitted, except for mechanical problems or
when a student is on a college-sponsored trip. If you must leave your
vehicle on campus overnight, notify the Department of Public Safety
at (630) 942-2000.
Handicapped Parking
Special handicapped parking permits are available and must be validated
through the Health and Special Services office, Berg Instructional Center
(IC), Room 2001, (630) 942-2154. Posted handicapped parking is available
in designated lots on the north side of the IC and the west side of
the SRC. Additional handicapped parking is available as designated in
general parking lots. All handicapped parking requires a displayed window
permit. There is a fine of $100 for illegal parking in handicapped areas.

Motorcycles
Seasonal motorcycle parking is permitted in posted areas located along
the northwest drive of Lot L, immediately south of the SRC. Additional
motorcycle parking is permitted in the crossed-off stall at the end
of each parking row in every lot. Click

Bicycles
Bicycle racks are provided on the plaza deck north of the IC, the south
side of the SRC, the plaza deck west of the Physical Education and Community
Recreation Center (PE), the north side of the McAninch Arts Center (AC),
the north side of Open Campus Center (OCC), and the southeast corner
of the Building M. Bike lockers are also available on campus. Contact

Permit parking
Permit and short-term parking is located in the posted area of Lot L,
south of the SRC, and Lot D, north of the SRC. Short-term parking (30
minutes or less) is permitted in the first row from the north end of
Lot L and designated stalls at the south end of Lot D. Permit parking
(daily basis) is permitted in the second and third rows from the north
end of Lot L and at the south end of Lot D. Permit parking requires
a special permit from the Department of Public Safety. Click

Accidents
If you are involved in a vehicle accident on campus, notify the Department
of Public Safety immediately to complete an accident report. All accidents
that result in personal injury, death or damages exceeding $500 must
be reported to the State of Illinois. All reports of personal injury
of students, faculty, staff and visitors should be directed to the Department
of Public Safety for appropriate treatment and/or assistance.
Violations and Fines
In accordance with Illinois Compiled Statutes, the Board of Trustees
of College of DuPage has established a schedule of fines and penalties
for violation of traffic regulations on the college campus. Vehicles
parked illegally will be immobilized or towed at the owners expense.
A
hold will be placed on academic records if citation is not appealed
or paid within five days of date of citation issue. Right of appeal
is forfeited on the sixth day after citation is issued. Citation must
be paid or cancelled to clear hold.
Payment
of Fines
Traffic fines may be paid in person or by mail at College of DuPage,
Cashiers office, SRC 2049A, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137-6599.
Credit cards are also accepted.
Appeal
Both students and college employees have the right to appeal traffic
citations in accordance with college procedure. Students wishing to
appeal may complete a form in person at the Cashiers office, SRC
2049A. Appeal forms will only be issued within five days of the date
of issuance of the citation. Faculty, staff and visitors wishing to
appeal may write a letter of appeal, addressed to the Appeal Committee,
c/o Chief of Public Safety, College of DuPage, Department of Public
Safety, SRC 2038, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137-6599.
