Interior Design Certificates

The Interior Design program at College of DuPage offers four certificates - Advanced Kitchen and Bath, Advanced Computer Applications, Advanced Lighting Design, and Advanced Sustainable Interior Design:


If you are interested in pursuing a career in the Kitchen and Bath design field, you should consider completing this certificate. Because this is a National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) endorsed program, students earning this College of DuPage certificate are recognized by the kitchen and bath industry as meeting NKBA standards. More information on the NKBA


This certificate indicates advanced knowledge in computer programs used in the interior design profession and is most commonly pursued by students who want to supplement their Associate in Applied Science degree with additional skills valued by employers.


This certificate indicates advanced knowledge in the lighting of interior spaces, a critical skill for interior designers. This certificate is most commonly earned by students who want to supplement their Associate in Applied Science degree with additional skills, which are valued by clients and employers.


Interior designers require resources that combine recycled materials and regulated, sustainable manufacturing processes for their clients' design projects. "Today's designer looks not only at the product itself, but also its pre- and post-product life - how it was manufactured and where it will go after it's used by the consumer," said Ann Cotton, professor and coordinator of COD's Interior Design program.
