The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicts that employment of all health care technologists will increase by almost 20 percent through 2020. Salaries and benefits will vary based on geographic location, employer, level of training, and years of experience. For example, according to Healthcare-Salaries.com, Chicago is one of the six highest-paying markets for anesthesia technologists, with average pay of more than $36,000. Anesthesia technicians who work in the state of Illinois take home a basic annual salary that lies within the range of $28,914 - $49,919. The annual median salary falls around $37,996.
