This is Sir Issac Newton (1642-1727), one of the foremost intellects of all times. Along with the fact that his contributions to physics rank him as one of the greatest scientists in history, one could argue that his ideas of causality place him in the midst of the world's greatest philosophers.

Almost all of what we will study in Physics 151 comes directly from Newton's works.
