Congratulations
to all the College of DuPage Photojournalism
and Portrait students who participated
in the 10th annual Easter Seals Exhibition, “Our
Journey”, which opens Wednesday,
October 21st at Easter Seals DuPage in
Villa Park.
This year 19 families collaborated
with our students to produce the show.
Students in the Photojournalism class
produced printed photo essays as well
as Sound Slides multimedia stories, which
are featured here. The Portrait students
made environmental portraits of their
subjects on location.
These images remain
on display at Easter Seal DuPage for
one year. Besides illustrating how COD
students give back to their community,
this class public service project is
a visual acknowledgment of our multi-talented
students, The 24 x 36” photographs
on display also serve a very important
purpose for Easter Seals and its families.
Mary Alice D’Arcy, President of
Easter Seals DuPage, says, “These
photographs give our families hope that
their child, although diagnosed with
a special need, can still achieve much
in their life and have a chance to participate
in everyday activities. For people who
see the photographs, it reminds them
that our services are offered to children
who are children first. It just happens
that their child’s body works differently
than some other kids.”
