Conversion InformationIf you will complete your engineering transfer studies at COD with credit in both the quarter and semester system, care must be taken in course selection. Many courses will have equivalents in both systems and will not cause difficulties. For example, Engineering 201 is now Engineering 2201. Either will transfer as Engineering Statics in those disciplines that require it. Problems arise for courses that are taught in sequences, such as chemistry, calculus, english composition, and physics. See the sections below that are related to those areas. If you have any doubts about course selection, see a counselor, an advisor, or a faculty member in the affected discipline.Engineering CoursesFollow this link for an overall view of engineering course conversions. Note that some courses (Engin 100/105 & Engin 210/212) have been combined to form a single course.Math, Physics, & Chemistry CoursesFollow this link for an explanation of new math and science sequences. Note that some courses are combined. For instance, the four quarter physics sequence has become three semesters.Course SequencesFollow this link for a visual presentation of math, science, and engineering sequences under the semester system. Note that although no specific engineering course is required, a minimum of 8 semester-hours of credit in engineering courses is required for the AES. All disciplines require some engineering courses as prerequisites for Junior level courses.Checklist for transfer and AES degreeThis link gives a checklist for tracking your progress under both the quarter and semester systems.
