Step 1: Prepare Files and Folders
Projects Page Preparation List Next Step
- First, go to the My Documents folder and click on it. Make sure that no other folder is selected. Within My Documents, create another folder called
yourname_266. ( In case it's not obvious, replace "yourname" with your actual real name - just the surname is fine, unless you have a common one such as "Smith", in which case include your first initial ).
This will be the folder for the slide show. This folder will contain all projects done for this class: vignette / saved selection project, tonal / color correction images, modified artist's image,
layers project, and the two final projects.
- Next, go to the My Documents folder again. Within My Documents, create another folder called extra_yourname.
- Go to your current folder - the one under My Documents that contains all your work for this class. Remove any files that are not projects done for this class, except for any images you've created that you feel are exceptional, or that I've commented on as being outstanding.
- Find the files for the projects you've done in class. Rename these files following the naming conventions below.
- yourname_vignette for the vignette / saved selection project
- yourname_correction1 and yourname_correction2 for the two tonal- and color-corrected images.
- yourname_artist for the modified image by the historical artist.
- yourname_landscape for the landscape / still-life main project.
- yourname_layers for the layers project.
- yourname_portrait for the self-portrait main project.
In addition, you should leave in your current folder any work you've created that you feel is exceptional or that I've made positive comments about.
- Drag your layers project ( the original finished version,
WITH ALL LAYERS STILL SEPARATE ) to the new folder called yourname_266 ( the new one created for the slide show. )
- Now you're ready for the next step - writing your artist statement.
