Professional Experience:
I have been in the field of Mental Health and Addictions for over 30 years. I began as a Mental Health Specialist at Elgin State Hospital in 1970 and have been providing therapy to mentally ill and addicted individuals and their families since. I received my Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science from University of Illinois at Chicago in 1970 and my Master's degree in Education from Pennsylvania State University in 1977. I also trained at the Elaine Goldman Institute for Psychodrama from 1971 to 1974. In 1976 I began working and training at Forest Hospital in DesPlaines, Il as a Video therapist. Prior to beginning my full time faculty position here at College of DuPage in 1990, I spent 11 years as Coordinator of Adult Outpatient Addictions Programs at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. I am currently a Senior Certified AODA Counselor (CSADC) and a registered MISA II counselor with IAODAPCA and nationally certified Addictions Counselor (NCAC II) with NAADAC.
