Philosophy
My dream as an educator is to enhance each student’s automotive diagnosis and repair abilities and skills, for them to be able to apply the theory and knowledge gained through our learning process to accurately diagnose and repair any automobile problem. I hope to have transferred to them my curiosity to discover how something works and why it works that way; then be able to apply that understanding to determine why something isn’t working or is broken.
I dream that these students will also appreciate the value of continuous learning and information updates to allow them to remain proficient and profitable in our profession. That they continue to understand how each of the automobiles’ systems is supposed to function, why it functions that way, the symptoms and effect a failure in one system can cause in others, and how the systems are interrelated and connected.
Once experienced, I hope that they will act as positive role models and mentors to the next group of apprentice automotive technicians while displaying and instilling pride in their workmanship and displaying ethical practices to raise and uphold the image of our profession.
I dream my students will continue to utilize all the resources available to gain as much knowledge and insight into the functions of an automobile and can also apply those learning, research, critical thinking, and problem solving skills to evaluate and solve any other difficulties encountered on the journey through life.
