Professional Background
Retired in spring, 2000, from Lucent Technologies in Naperville, after 31 years in various aspects of switching system software development. Worked on several systems doing call processing, maintenance and support software, providing customer support, managing groups of technical engineers and managing software projects of various sizes. Just contact me, if you'd like to discuss the exciting world of software development and the rewards and challenges of a work-life in a large corporation.

Educational Background
My educational background includes a BS from Iowa State University with a dual major in Math and Computer Science and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Chicago.

Current Classes
I am teaching two sessions of Math 081 this winter quarter (10 and 11 on M-F). My regular office hours are 9-10 M-F.

Teaching Style
I enjoy an interactive class session with a lot of input from the students to help me work through the topics we cover each day. There is a heavy emphasis on homework -- practice makes easier. I enjoy learning and I learn something every quarter from the amazing students here at COD. There is usually plenty of time for Q&A in each lecture period and there are review days included prior to every chapter test. Homework is picked up almost daily, graded and returned in the following class period.
