Methods of InstructionLectures will be comprised of textbook review and examples explained in class. Exercises and/or projects will be assigned for completion both in class and outside of class. Course PracticesSpecial Student Program:If you have a documented learning, psychological or physical disability, you may be entitled to reasonable academic accommodations or services. To request accommodations or services contact the SSP in the Room IC2123. All students are expected to fulfill all the course requirements. The College will not waive any essential skill or requirement of a course or degree program. Attendance:Attendance is not mandatory. HOWEVER, you will sign an attendance sheet at each session. This will also give me information regarding student progress and whether poor grades relate to poor attendance. If you must miss a class, contact a fellow student for materials and/or information. Specific courses may have mandatory attendance days. Text:The student must prepare for each class by reading all assigned material from the text or outside sources BEFORE class. You are responsible for all material assigned from the book. Everything may NOT be covered in lectures. The chapters may be randomly assigned. Please note there may be additional material the student will be responsible for presented only in lecture/lab session, not included in the text. Computer Program Projects (for programming courses):Projects will be a computer program that you will turn in or demonstrate to the instructor. Late projects will be permitted ONLY if the student notifies the instructor at least 3 day prior to the date the Project is due. If these conditions are not met, the resulting grade will be 0 for the Project. FINAL GRADE WILL BE LOWERED ONE LEVEL FOR FAILURE TO HAVE 70 (70%) ON THE FINAL PROJECT. FINAL GRADE WILL BE LOWERED ONE LEVEL FOR FAILURE TO TURN IN BOTH THE MIDTERM AND FINAL PROJECTS. Computer Program Assignments (for programming courses):You will be given approximately 1 – 2 weeks to complete each program assignment. You will be given a format that must be followed for all source code. Points will be taken off for failure to follow the format. Source code that is unreadable will not be graded and the assigned project/program will be given 0 points. Place print outs and/or disks as assigned in an UNSEALED envelope (minimum size 9” x 12”) with your name, course, assignment number and the day the class meets clearly printed on BOTH SIDES OF THE ENVELOPE. 20% will de deducted for each class period an assignment is late up to 4 periods. After that, the assignment will be given 0 points, but must still be submitted to count toward completing all assignment. Prior approval must be granted to turn in assignments late. Permission to turn in late assignments will be given for a maximum of 2 assignments. The student must turn all of the programs. FINAL GRADE WILL BE LOWERED ONE LEVEL FOR FAILURE TO TURN IN THE ALL OF THE PROGRAMS. All Other Assignments:You will be given approximately 1 – 2 weeks to complete each assignment.
