Dejang Liu has been a Microsoft Access application developer since Access 2.0 was released in late 80’. In 2000, he became a faculty member of the Computer Information Systems Department at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Before becoming a full-time professor at College of DuPage, Dejang taught as an adjunct at Morton College of Cicero and Joliet Junior College of Joliet from 1996 to 2000, while serving at the East-West University of Chicago as Department Chair of Computer and Information Science Department from 1998 to 2000.

 

After graduating from the University of Minnesota in 1989 with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mr. Liu worked as a consultant, engineer, director, and programmer at various private companies. In 1991, he became a partner of Diamond Software Services, a company that specializes in developing custom database applications. Dejang was invited to work with Diamond InfoTech in Taiwan to localize the Chinese version of Office 95 for the Microsoft Corporation in Taiwan.

 

Dejang holds a BS in Aeronautical Engineering from Tamkang University, Taiwan, an MBA in MIS from the University of Illinois in Chicago, and an Ed. D. in Adult Higher Education from Northern Illinois University. He was certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist and a Microsoft Authorized Office Specialist Instructor since the release of Office 97.

 

He is am amateur photographer and golfer. He believes that the summer is a season of “Three R’s”: rest, recharge, and research. So his summer is filled with activities. Back
