Ron Kapper

Ron Kapper is Professor in the Office Technology Information Program of the Business and Services Division at the College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, IL. His 27 years of teaching at COD include business communication, keyboarding, shorthand, word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation graphics, personal information management, e-mail, and others. He has been teaching internet courses that include OFTI161, MS Office 97 and OFTI150, Business Correspondence for the past year. Beginning winter quarter 2000, Office 2000 and OFTI100, Keyboarding will be offered. Ron's style of teaching is informal with emphasis on the learning outcomes achieved by the student. He is interested in seeing that the student meets the objectives of the course and going a few steps farther in developing oneself. He also realizes that each student has a different learning style and therefore, tries to help the student understand that style and use it to their advantage. He recently co-authored five keyboarding textbooks to be used with computers for EMC/Paradigm Publishing Company. He is past president of Illinois Business Education Association and Chicago Area Business Education Association. His National Business Education Association membership spans 33 years. Additionally, he has memberships in other professional organizations. Ron is training and consulting in the business world in Microsoft Office, keyboarding, ergonomics, and business communication. He has done various seminars and workshops for faculty and staff at the College of DuPage and high schools. Finally, he has made over 75 presentations at local, state, and national conventions and through COD's Speakers Bureau.
