Hello, my name is Cheryl P. Jackson. I have been a member of the College
of DuPage family since 1992. I have an M.A. in Communications and Training
from Governors State University (University Park), a B.S. in Health
Information Management from Louisiana Tech University (Ruston), and a
Paralegal Certificate from Roosevelt University (Chicago). I am a registered
health information administrator (RHIA) as well as a certified coding
specialist (CCS). I developed our Health Sciences 1110 class for alternative delivery in the Center for Independent Learning. I also developed a pharmacology class for health information and advanced biomedical terminology for Internet delivery. I found my niche in life when I taught my first class at COD in 1991.
I am married to an awesome man, Rev. Larry L. Jackson and we have three wonderful children. I love to garden---roses are my passion. I am a professional storyteller…..intrigued by the narrative story. I have served as the past President of the Chicago Area Health Information Management Association and was honored as Distinguished Member in 2005.
