In this lesson we
will consider the various ways that students can use writing to
help themselves understand and recall literature and their responses
to it. Clearly an on-line class is an excellent place to develop
your ability to express yourself well about what you read. The power
to represent texts and your understanding of them to yourself and
to others may be the most valuable skill with an immediate benefit
you will achieve this quarter.
This lesson also
begins to show you how to think about writing your more formal papers
the this class. We will assume you have a basic understanding
of how to write a coherent, focused essay with a thesis. From
there we will go on to look at the different ways one can approach
writing about literature whether in essay form or other genres.
