
Dr. Kathryn Golden
Professor, Criminal Justice Program
- Dr. Kathryn Golden has been a professor of criminal justice at the College
of DuPage since 1983 and over the years she has taught a variety of criminal
justice courses and was program coordinator for 16 years.
- Professor Golden has a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Summa Cum Laude) from
Bridgewater State College, a Master of Arts Degree in English from the
University of Rhode Island and a Master of Arts degree in Law Enforcement
Administration from Western Illinois University, where she was one of the
first graduates of that degree program. Prior to her arrival at the College
of DuPage, she was a faculty member at the Department of Law Enforcement
Administration at Western Illinois University. In 1991 she received her
Ph.D in Sociology from the University of Illinois at Chicago where she
did her dissertation research on the social psychological adjustments of
teenagers in the Naperville area.
- Over the years, Professor. Golden has been involved in a number of
projects in the field concerning police, court and juvenile delinquency
programs. She has published several research articles in these areas in
Criminology, Criminal Justice Review and the Journal of Police Science
and Administration. She is also a past recipient of the Divisional Outstanding
Faculty Award.
- During this academic year, she will be teaching sections of Criminal Justice
100 (Introduction to Criminal Justice) and Criminal Justice 240 (Juvenile
Delinquency) in the classroom and in the Center for Independent Learning.
