This is Sir Issac Newton (1642-1727), one of the foremost intellects of all times. Along with the fact that his contributions to physics rank him as one of the greatest scientists in history, one could argue that his ideas of causality place him in the midst of the world's greatest philosophers.
Much of what we study in Physics 1100 and almost all of what we study in Physics 1201, 2111 comes directly from Newton's works.
