The Big Island: Hawaii's "Island of Adventure"Twice as large as the rest of the Hawaiian Islands combined, Hawai'i, or The Big Island, is home to two of the worlds largest, and it’s most active volcano - Kilauea. The island is so tall and wide that it is possible to snorkel among coral reefs, hike through lush rainforests and admire a seemingly endless night sky along the ridges of the sub arctic mountaintops all in the same day. Join us and see the Earth being made right before your eyes as we explore the lava deserts and steaming craters of Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, snorkel with undersea life of the Pacific Ocean, hike remote trails and discover the native history and Aloha spirit of the Big Island. Class: September 22, 2010 - 6-8PM Field Study: October 2-9, 2010 Fee: $2220 (includes air and ground transportation, airport shuttles, all park fees, tours and lodging). Downloads |
