Professional Background

Twenty years experience in teaching fitness and movement with varied populations and clients including the Detroit Red Wings, a professional hockey team in the NHL.
Twenty seven years of nursing with a specialty in psychiatric nursing including client education, nursing assessments, leading and co-leading group therapy and dispositional planning.
Since graduating from Dance/Movement Therapy School in 1966 I have designed movement programs for children, adolescent and adult clients at Forest Hospital in Des Plaines, IL.

Currently I have my own business Marilyn's Moving Experience where I work with men and women teaching mind, body, spirit connection through body awareness, body listening, releasing body tension and emotional tension through movement, relaxation, meditation and the use of body affirmations.  My vision and mission is to encourage and facilitate each client or students personal growth and body awareness to find individuality through movement and self expression.

I will create the atmosphere for this creative process to unfold by educating and acknowledging each students uniqueness in a permitting and supportive environment.
I'm a strong advocate for womens rights and attend many workshops regarding the Feminine Principle and the Relationale Model and currently am in a 3 year project called the Women's Leadership Collaborative.
