PERSONAL STATEMENT:Society operates at a tremendous speed with regard to work, home and education. In order to slow down this process (often a combination of visual overload supported by face-paced sound bites and not enough time to really synthesize information) we need to focus more on improving the overall quality of our lives. An important aspect of this quality revolves around our living and working environments. This is why the public needs Interior Designers. The professionally educated Interior Designer addresses many of these environments within the scope of tasks or services they support. My approach to Interior Design education is in the role of communicator and teacher. One who can provide insight to the necessary classes and/or skills contributing to the greater "body of knowledge" and how it relates to the overall quality of life within the built environment. The vast amount of career choices, within the field of Interior Design, also contributes to the need of a greater public understanding of what an educated Interior Designer does while designing functional yet aesthetically pleasing interiors.
