Isopoda (Sowbugs)
- Crustaceans related to pillbugs.
- 7 pairs of legs on thorax; posterior legs longer than anterior legs;
grasping claws on first pair of legs; 2 tail-like projections protrude from the end of the abdomen.
- Eyes unstalked and bodies dorso-ventrally flattened (top to bottom).
- Brownish and often mottled in life; gray and often curled in preservation.
Length: 5 mm to 22 mm
