 What do you like about the paper?  What works well?

 How well do you think the writer keeps his or her readers in mind? 

 How could he or she communicate better with the reader? 

 Does the writer seem to have a clear purpose?  What is it?

 What suggestions can you make about improving the purpose? Does it need to be narrower, more controversial, more original, more thoughtful?

How well does the paper focus on its topic?  Does it connect all support to it?

How well does author interact with, discuss, question, criticize or in any way comment on the researched material?

 What questions do you have about the paper?  What more do you need to know? 

 What examples or other support might help? 

What specific suggestions do you have for improving the paper?
