Reading Competency Requirement

The Reading Competency Requirement is a standard which students must meet, indicating whether they are adequately prepared to read most college-level texts. If this standard is not met, students will be placed in one of a series of college-prepatory reading courses. Until this standard is met, students must meet with an Adviser for help in course planning before they will be allowed to register for courses. Once the Reading Competency Requirement is met, this registration hold will be lifted from the students' records.
