Partnerships for College and Career Success is an educational
initiative to prepare students for highly skilled/high wage careers. It
is a seamless program of study that begins in high school and continues
at post-secondary education levels. The program includes the following
components:
Career awareness, assessment, exploration and planning. Students
choose their careers based on their own interests, aptitude, motivation
and values.
A 2+2+2 sequence of occupational and academic courses. Students
start with two in high school earning college articulated credit, transitioning
on to complete a two-year community college degree, and then another
two years for an optional baccalaureate degree at a four-year college
or university. In many cases, the community college has transfer arrangements
to the college or university in the chosen career path.
Relevant
internship experiences in the chosen career path. This provides
avenues for students to earn money, scholarships or employer-sponsored
tuition to fund the costs to complete a four-year degree.
