The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects the employment for paralegals to grow much faster than average for all occupations through the year 2014. Employers are attempting to reduce costs and increase the availability and efficiency of legal services by hiring paralegals to perform tasks formerly performed by lawyers. For more information on the paralegal field on the national level, visit
this U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics web site: For more information on Illinois’ labor market, visit this web site. The College and Career Information Center in the College of DuPage Library
has a number of excellent career guides for law and paralegal careers.
