Career Overview

Paralegals, working under the supervision of an attorney, help provide high quality, cost-effective legal services to the public or private sector.

Although paralegals cannot provide legal services directly to the public, except as permitted by law, they are becoming an indispensable part of the legal team. Paralegals are engaged in an increasingly wide range of tasks, including assisting lawyers in civil and criminal trials and hearings, real estate closings, investigations, and corporate matters.
