Testing for Non-Local Students

Students must arrange test proctoring if visiting the C.O.D. testing center is not realistic.

Placement Testing for Non-Local Online Students
Requirements for placement tests and criteria to waive them are explained in the Testing Assessment web site. First, find out if you will need to take a placement test.

Students who plan to register for an online course and are required to take a placement test but do not live in the Chicago area can contact Assessment and Testing Services via e-mail or phone. Placement tests can be delivered in an approved testing facility, depending on your location.

Course Testing for Non-Local Online Students
First, find out if your class requires on-site testing.

If you do not live locally but your online course requires campus visit(s) for testing, you may take tests away from the C.O.D. campus if arrangements can be made. To do this, you will need to inform your instructor and contact C.O.D.’s Assessment and Testing Services.

You can find which school nearest to you is a member of the Consortium of College Testing Centers. Usually, any paper-pencil tests can be proctored at an approved testing center, such as a college or university that is convenient to you. A photo ID is required to use any testing facility.
