The Practical Nursing (PN) Certificate Program

The Practical Nursing (PN) certificate program at College of DuPage provides didactic, laboratory and clinical education for students interested in pursuing a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The PN program also serves as a transitional step for students interested in continuing their education by completing the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program at C.O.D.

Students who earn a PN certificate are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination-Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN), and upon successful completion, are licensed as an LPN.

The PN certificate program at College of DuPage has been approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation/Board of Nursing and the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB).The Practical Nursing program has candidacy status for accreditation through the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), 61 Broadway, 33rd Floor, New York, NY 10006, (800) 669- 1656, ext. 153, www.nlnac.org.
