Crowds Gather for Black History Month Closing Ceremony at College of DuPage

Students, faculty, staff, and community members danced to the beats of the Afrikan Dance and Music Institute during the closing ceremony of College of DuPage’s annual Black History Month celebration. Click here to view photos from the event.

The culmination of the College’s month-long celebration, the day also featured a complimentary Caribbean-style lunch and displays on African-American inventors.

Hosted by the College’s Center for Student Diversity, COD’s Black History Month celebration, also included the annual African-American Read-In, an exhibit and talk by artist Faheem Majeed, guest speakers entrepreneur Rodney Walker and Vicki Clark, as well as a panel discussion, “African-Americans in Times of War.”
