By Jordyn Holliday
"Images," College of DuPage’s monthly one-half hour television show, features in its January edition segments on alumna and restaurant owner Raquel Black, the COD Cares Up to S.N.O.W. Good holiday campaign and Chef Chris Thielman’s butternut squash soup recipe.
Each month, “Images” highlights the personalities, news and curriculum of a vibrant College of DuPage campus. The show airs on 13 area cable television stations.
January “Images” features Culinary Arts alumna and chef Raquel Black, who decided to step away from a career in health care to pursue her dream of opening a restaurant. Black is now the owner of Caribbean Corner, a local eatery that allows her to share the flavors she grew up enjoying with others.
The show also highlights the COD Cares Up to S.N.O.W. Good holiday campaign. Volunteers “adopted” a total of 12 local organizations and provided gifts, created snow globes and decorated cookies for dozens of other individuals during the season of giving.
Culinary Arts Professor and Chef Chris Thielman’s segment of “In the Kitchen with Chris” is also featured in this episode. Thielman offers the perfect remedy to stay warm during the cold winter months with his butternut squash soup recipe.
“Images” airs at various times on cable television stations in Downers Grove, Wheaton, Addison, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Naperville, Glendale Heights, Bartlett, Lemont, Elk Grove, Darien, Aurora and West Chicago. Check local cable listings for times and channels.
