Lisa Stock

Lisa Stock, Ph.D., has returned to College of DuPage in a new role as Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs.

She previously was Dean of Learning Resources for six years but left COD in 2013 to become Dean of Academic Affairs at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa.

“While I enjoyed overseeing the Library, online learning and other related initiatives at College of DuPage, I wanted to work more directly with academic programming,” said the Hoffman Estates resident.

Stock holds a bachelor’s degree in Child Development from Iowa State University, a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Iowa and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Iowa State University. As Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, she works with the Honors program and the Learning Commons as well as on a variety of assessment activities; provides oversight for the College’s Perkins Grant; supports academic partnerships with transfer institutions; and plays a key role in developing the new Pathways initiative for students. As a Higher Learning Commission peer reviewer, she also will help the College meet current and future accreditation needs regarding academics.

“Having previously worked at COD, I can jump right into my work because I already understand the wide scope of everything the College does,” she said. “This is a homecoming of sorts for me, and reconnecting with my former colleagues and friends made me realize even more how glad I am to return to College of DuPage.”

College of DuPage is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Serving approximately 26,000 students each term, College of DuPage is the largest public community college in the state of Illinois. The College grants nine associate degrees and offers more than 170 career and technical certificates in over 50 areas of study.
