Wendy E. Parks brings a wealth of experience to her new position as the Director of Public Relations and Communications at College of DuPage.
Parks comes to the College from the Chicago Housing Authority, where she worked as Director of Communications & Marketing and Public Information Officer and most recently as Senior Advisor to the Office of the Chief Investment Officer. For this newly formed office, Parks spearheaded the strategic direction and planning for all public relations and marketing initiatives.
“Wendy Parks brings a fresh approach to her new role as the College’s lead communicator,” said Dr. Ann Rondeau, President of College of DuPage. “We are very pleased to welcome Wendy to our senior executive team. Her extensive experience will further strengthen how we communicate the life-changing impact that College of DuPage makes on our students and community every day.”
Parks holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and an MBA from Loyola University. In her new role at the College, she will oversee Communications, Public Relations, Community Relations and the FOIA Office. In addition to her work at the CHA, her extensive experience includes Senior Communications Officer for the University of Chicago and Head of Corporate Communications for Johnson Publishing Company.
She said College of DuPage is well positioned to meet the ever-changing needs of its student population and community-at-large as one of the largest educational institutions in the state.
“It is my hope to expand and leverage communications, community engagement and public relations tools to significantly impact the next generation of leaders and life-long learners,” Parks said. “I am excited about the endless possibilities for future growth.”
Her initial goals include conducting a listening tour with both internal and external stakeholders and executing a communications audit that will help inform the development of an integrated strategic communications plan.
“I am deeply honored to serve as a member of President Dr. Ann Rondeau’s Cabinet and Director of Public Relations and Communications,” Parks said. “Through the lens of innovation, a student-centered platform and robust community engagement, I look forward to working with a wide array of stakeholders to help further strengthen the brand identity and mission for the College of DuPage.”

Serving approximately 28,000 students each term, College of DuPage is the largest public community college in the state of Illinois.
