For the second year consecutively, four students from the College of DuPage Diagnostic Medical Imaging Radiography program took first place at the Radiography Scholar Bowl state championship. COD’s winning team included (from left) Keith Wells (Hodgkins), Natalie Merchut (Lombard), Christina Burch (Yorkville) and Angelique Roberts (Naperville).

Second-year COD radiography student Burch was also awarded the Illinois State Society of Radiologic Technologists (ISSRT) Northern Region Scholarship and she was selected to represent Illinois in the ASRT Student Leadership Development program at the upcoming American Society of Radiologic Technologist (ASRT) conference in June. COD radiography student Tara Logan won first place for her scientific paper and presentation on Radial Scars and Jessica Sanchez was awarded Elizabeth Bray Scholarship through the ISSRT.

Held at the 82nd ISSRT annual conference, the 2017 competition included testing in a variety of categories, including Radiation Protection and Biology, Equipment Operation and Quality Control, Image Production and Evaluation, Radiographic Procedures, and Patient Care and Education. The conference drew more than 360 students and technologists from 14 schools throughout Illinois.
