COD Offers New Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Camp for High School Students Aug. 1

The Continuing Education program and the Homeland Security Training Institute at College of DuPage are offering a new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Camp for high school students entering grades 9 through 12 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1, on the College’s Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.
During this camp, students will the learn basics of operating a small unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The camp will cover a variety of topics, including accuracy and business uses, air traffic control (ATC) airspace, FAA rules, flight control, tactical operations and dealing with weather conditions. During the final hour of class, students will test their skills in a UAV challenge.
Funding for this class is available on a first-come, first-served basis to qualifying families through the COD Continuing Education’s Youth Leadership Scholarship.
