Jarret Dyer of Wheaton Elected to Serve on National Testing Council

By Robyn Johnson

Wheaton resident Jarret Dyer, College of DuPage Coordinator of Specialized Testing Services and Chief GED Examiner for DuPage County, has been elected to the 17-member Governing Council of the National College Testing Association (NCTA).

"Being nominated and elected to serve in this prestigious national organization is truly an honor. I look forward to the opportunity to participate in developing policy and procedures in this new role," Dyer said. "My selection to serve on this council is truly a reflection of the high standards associated with the College of DuPage Testing Center. We are as a group recognized and emulated for our innovative and successful processes."

Dyer has been employed at College of DuPage since 2004. He received a B.S. in 2001 from Messiah College in Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. in 2009 from Northern Illinois University.

The COD Testing Center is dedicated to enhancing student success by providing comprehensive, accessible testing services, Dyer said. The center is committed to maintaining the highest compliance with the NCTA's Standards and Guidelines, safeguarding test integrity and confidentiality, and creating an optimal testing environment that will meet the needs of students, faculty, administrators and community.

The College's Testing Center supports course, college and program requirements; identifies academic strengths and weaknesses; clarifies interests, values and personality traits; and completes specialized testing needs.

NCTA is a non-profit organization of testing professionals organized in 2000 through the merging of several regional associations. The organization currently has 2,000-plus members at more than 600 higher education institutions and 40 corporations and certification agencies in the United States and Canada.
