CERT training

By Brian Kleemann

More than 120 members of the Milton Township Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) gather for a Call-Out Exercise in the Homeland Security Education Center at College of DuPage.

During the recent exercise, CERT members received notification of a crisis and were directed to report to the street scene location in the HEC. An inventory of CERT members’ emergency response backpacks was taken, and presentations were made by COD Associate Dean Tom Brady, Director of the DuPage County Office of Emergency Management James Joseph, and DuPage County Sheriff John Zaruba

“The exercise demonstrated the ability of local residents to respond in the event of a man-made or natural disaster,” Brady said.
