Tom Glaser Named Among CFOs of the Year

College of DuPage Senior Vice President for Administration and Treasurer Tom Glaser recently was named among this year’s CFOs of the Year by the Daily Herald Business Ledger.
Now in its second year, the CFO of the Year Awards recognition was established to honor top financial executives who contribute to the success of the region’s economic growth and stability. Glaser was among 17 honorees recognized in six categories and one of only three CFOs from educational institutions. He and his fellow winners were honored at a reception held July 18 in Bolingbrook.
“Tom has played an integral role in the continued financial health of College of DuPage,” said COD President Robert L. Breuder. “With his guidance, we have been able to keep education affordable for our students, provide the best teaching and learning facilities available, and increase funding of support services to ensure a positive student experience.”
The College recently approved its FY2014 budget, which relies little on state funding and includes contingencies for the state’s unfunded pension liabilities as well as needed institutional technology upgrades. COD maintains a healthy unallocated fund balance, which comprises 56.3 percent of its operating budget, and Triple-A (Aaa/AAA) ratings from both Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s, the highest ratings possible.
College of DuPage serves more than 26,000 students and is the second largest provider of undergraduate education in the state after University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
