'It Can Wait' Campaign at COD
Student Albert Batiz of Lombard keeps his eyes on the "road" during an obstacle course to test his ability to text and drive at the "It Can Wait" campaign sponsored by AT&T and COD. The national outreach initiative provided an opportunity for students to test their ability to drive on a go-cart obstacle course. In addition, a poignant "Last Text" documentary was aired and students were asked to sign a pledge vowing they would not text and drive. Attending the event were COD President Dr. Robert L. Breuder, COD Board Trustee Dianne McGuire, State Rep. Sandra Pihos (R-42), State Rep. Darlene Senger (R-96), Julie Vahling, Illinois Department of Transportation and Jim Underwood, Executive Director of the Illinois Capital Development Board.
