Global Surveillance and Democracy in the Post-9/11 World
 
Since 9/11 an array of global surveillance initiatives have been planned or implemented by governments.  These include the NSA domestic spying program, passports and national ID cards, and a monster data mining program, and Total Information Awareness -- among others. What effect does this have on democracy, civil liberties, and human rights?
