Event Recording
Multimedia's
event recording service exists to make your department's event available
to a larger college audience. The recordings can be in audio-only
or audio and video. This service is particularly well-suited to
presentations by visiting lecturers or one-time events that are
of interest to a wider college audience. Due to staffing and resource
issues we cannot honor every event-recording request but we will
make every effort to accomodate your needs.
We
ask that you consider the following factors before requesting a
recording:
- Outside
of my immediate audience, how many people will want to view my
event?
- What
kind of shelf life will this event have? (How long will it
be useful?)
- Try
to avoid topics that are a hot issue today but will likely be
forgotten next month.
- If
the speaker plans to use PowerPoint or other media, can you get
a copy of the support media to be edited directly into the program?
- How
will the tape(s) be distributed?
- As
an instructor you keep a copy of the tape to show each new
class for the next several quarters... or
- You
might put a few copies of the tape in the library reserve
section for student/staff checkout for the next year or so...
or
- To
make the tape(s) available to everyone, you could request
that it be placed on the streaming web server, making it available
to anyone for a year.
- Finally,
remember to get the speaker's permission to be videotaped and
distributed before the Multimedia crew arrives to setup. We have
blank release forms we can email to you. To get an event recording
