This is a view of the Mohammad Ali mosque
within the Citadel in Cairo, Egypt, taken at a
location of the Madrassah of Ali Hasan. The
Citadel was built on the only high ground near the
Nile by Salah-ad-Din (Saladin) in the 12th century,
and was used as a military garrison until the 1952
revolution. The Mohammad Ali mosque was built
in the 19th century.
