What
We Do
The Linkage to Careers program at College of
DuPage helps individuals find the best job and career opportunities
and helps today’s
businesses develop a competent and diverse workforce. We specialize
in job placement services that assure successful outcomes for both
job seekers and employers. We also work to raise employer awareness
on the value of hiring workers with disabilities. We offer further
education, training, and workshops to ensure that employees and employers
are receiving what they need.

For
Employers
The Linkage to Careers
program reaches out to area businesses to understand
their operations and job requirements.
In addition, this program provides
pre-screened job applicants, information
on tax credits and incentives, and information on disability and
employment issues. There are no fees for services.
As an employer of a worker with a disability, you may be eligible
for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC). Ask your tax adviser
for more information.

“I have found the disabled
to be as dependable as
any employee I have ever had
and as hard working as any employee I have ever had.”

For Job Seekers
With Disabilities
Quality job preparation and placement services assist College of
DuPage students in maximizing their job searches and employability.
College of DuPage offers vocational skills courses that teach job
readiness, resume writing, job search and computer skills, and more
to help those with disabilities prepare for a job.
“I
think the classes really helped with the job that I have now. I work
in the Academic Computing Center at C.O.D.
The ones that helped me the most were the computer and the employment
skills classes.
When I have a question about something at work, I know
about asking my supervisor
or co-workers.”
