This guide is intended to help you find graphic arts information from books, videos, software, and magazines in the C.O.D. Library. It also provides information for locating journal articles in Library databases and indexes and free Web sites.
C.O.D. Library Materials
Search Strategies
- To find books, videos, and software in the C.O.D. Library, use the C.O.D. Library Catalog.
- Try doing a subject search of the Library catalog using some of the subject headings listed below:
- Do a keyword
search of the Library catalog using some keywords that are specific to your topic. For example:
- Dreamweaver
- "roy lichtenstein"
- "art deco"
- color AND design
Using specific keywords such as proper names, combining keywords, and using
keyword phrases are good ways to find exactly what you are looking for.
- You can also browse the Reference collection and the General collection for graphic arts resources. Begin by browsing some of the call number areas below:
- NC - Drawing. Design. Illustration.
- NE - Print media.
- T385 - (Software guides such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator)
- TK5105.88 - Web publishing
- Z116 - Z265 - Printing.
Locate these areas in the collections using the Library Directions, Maps & Virtual Tour pages.
Journals in the Library
The Library has current copies of the following graphic arts periodicals in the current periodicals section of the Library.
Issues that are more than a year or two old can usually be found in the microfilm area of the Library.
