Article Analysis Project

Background

This assignment will give you the opportunity to apply what we have discussed in class to a relevant, current business topic appearing in an article in a recent business publication.

The Project

You are to write a critical analysis of two articles on a business topic of your choice. The articles should both focus on the same topic. The analysis should include a brief summary of the two articles and an evaluation, analysis or reaction to the ideas that were presented in the articles. In your analysis, refer to concepts that were referred to in class or in the textbook. Correctly cite the articles at the end of your analysis.

Learning Outcomes

Students will find two articles on the same business topic in one or more of the article business databases - i.e., ABI Inform, Business & Company ASAP or Business Source Elite.
Students will understand the differences in the features of these databases.
Students will distinguish between use of the Internet and the Library's subscription databases for research.

Students will print or e-mail the articles to demonstrate the ability to access them full text.

Students will select a documentation style and use it consistently to cite their sources.

Students will distinguish between use of the Internet and the Library's subscription databases for research.

Students will demonstrate the ability to analyze the topic addressed by the two articles and apply what they have learned in class to the discussion.

Project Format

2-3 double-spaced typewritten pages.
The two articles should be recent within the past year.
A copy of each of the articles should be attached to the written analysis.
