The following titles are useful for finding industry ratios which can be used as benchmarks for analyzing companies and how they compare with their industry peers. It may be necessary to consult more than one title to locate the industry which you are researching. Hoover's Online also contains many of the same ratios for both companies and the industries in which they operate.
RMA Annual Statement Studies

This is the recommended title to consult first when researching
industry ratios. Ratios are based on corporate financial statement
information. Also visit the RMA web site http://www.rmahq.org/Ann_Studies/asstudies.html
for definitions and explanations of ratios, balance sheets
and income data that are contained in the Statement Studies.

on corporate financial statements in the D&B financial database.
All of these databases are available from an off-campus computer with a College of DuPage library card.
